The InnChanter was recommended to us by a B&B host in Vancouver and we are so glad he did. After an hour on the whale watching boat we were wondering what we had let ourselves in for but when the InnChanter came into sight and five minutes of Shaun's company made us sure we had done the right thing! The boat is charming and our Princess Room had a comfy raised bed, plenty of space and portholes which let in the morning light. The lack of shower shared toilet facilities was made up for by the close location of the hot springs. Our morning routine was to get up early(ish), row ourselves over to the hot springs dock, walk the 20 minutes along the board walk and have a dunk in the springs before the "tourists" arrived. Then it was back for a sumptuous breakfast. Choices then, of going on an adventure or chilling out chatting with other guests or reading a book on the sun deck? Shaun was more than happy to organise adventures including walks to remote beaches on the other side of the peninsular or a walk (trek) up a river for a swim in a pool under the waterfalls. At night time the stars are the brightest and biggest we had ever seen and for a real treat - take a boat out in the pitch black and watch the fish being lit up by the bio luminescent algae - looked like a scene from a sci fi film! Magical. And then there's dinner. Not sure where to begin but Shaun is not only an exceptional host, he is also a fantastic chef. Our evening meals taken with the other guests in the beautiful, panoramic diningroom, were out of this world. We picked fresh samphire for our salad and ate salmon and halibut so fresh it was unbelievable! The living room was cosy with a roaring fire when the evenings get chilly. Don’t forget to bring water shoes and a torch! So if you are up for an adventure this is certainly for you. Be prepared to mix in with the other guests and row yourself to land and you'll have an amazing time. Take the float plane back to Tofino (Shaun will organise this for you) - you won't be disappointed.

Hi Shaun, Henning, Tomas and I had a whale of a time. This is what every family should do once in a while, as you come back on land renewed and re bonded over good fun, good food, lots of rest and super entertained by a whale of a host. My husband and I visited Tofino for our 25th Anniversary the summer 2012.It was so amazing! We especially loved the Innchanter experience and recommend it to our friends.Shaun is a beautiful host and makes delicious , nutritious and imaginative dishes . Hot Springs Cove is a must when you are planning a visit to Tofino

I brought my daughter and son out to Tofino for a vacation and we stayed one night at the Innchanter. It was the absolute highlight of the trip. We had a chance to take the kayaks out and what treat that was. The scenery is something we never get to see in Ontario. While kayaking we saw a black bear within 20 feet, then when we got back to the boat there was an eagle swooping in and fishing less than 40 feet away. My daughter couldn't take pictures fast enough. The inn keepers that Shaun has aboard are wonderful people and excellent chefs. Steve took us on a hike across to a bay that was on a trail I would have never found. The scenery was just amazing. After Cathy and Steve treated us to a wonderful meal, we topped off the day with a relaxing trip to the hot springs. Evening at the hot springs is so much better than going during the day. And the final treat of the day was the trip back the the boat in the dark, when the water lights up with the bioluminescent phytoplankton. Shaun it was a pleasure meeting you. My son thinks you have a wicked sense of humor. Cathy and Steve, thanks so much for your hospitality. It was a treat meeting Scully.

The atmosphere of the InnChanter and the Cove is phenomenal. I am writing this months after I spent part of my summer on the boat. The adventure and the conversations, the FOOD, the stars at night... I can go on and on about how awesome the experience was for me. Thank you, Shaun, for the fantastic company. You have the most inspiring and fantastic stories, and the soul of the boat and the very natural surroundings made it all the more... "InnChanting." 🙂

When I was in Tofino the third week in July I asked a friend, "What is the one thing I should do when I'm here?" He said, "The number one thing you should do when visiting Tofino is go to the Inn Chanter." Literally, the next day my two friends organized a flight with Tofino Air and had the day planned out... they were 100% right. I've never been to such a place. Shawn, thank you so much for your hospitality, the laughs and conversation - your a great man and I'm so happy I had the pleasure to meet you. Your concept with the Inn Chanter is like nothing I've seen before. I felt like one night there was like a week at day camp - on steroids 🙂 Thanks so much for the fantastic food, and that's an understatement. You are truly an amazing cook. The smoked salmon was bang on, and your mom's baked cookies hit the spot when we got there. The hot springs was a great hike and we were lucky enough to have nice weather and see a fantastic sunset. This is a 'must do' when visiting Tofino, and I can't wait to visit again. Thanks again for the memories.

What a magical experience! She had no idea where she was going or what she was doing. She arrived by float plane to an isolated cove with a beautiful 1926 floating palace. Once the sheer surprise of the most beautiful place on the planet set in, we did a trip to the Hot Springs. AMAZING!!! Once back, Mark and Austin prepared a wonderful candle lit dinner for us. After dinner, we went upstairs on the deck, where I fell to one knee and pulled out a ring that I had been waiting five years to do... only to drop it in the OCEAN!!!! Her reaction was what you would expect... but I couldn't let her worry too long, I then pulled out the real ring and asked for her hand in marriage. One of the most important days in our lives, was in the most beautiful place in the world, and was absolutely perfect! Thank you Innchanter for providing a memory that will last for the rest of our lives. I Highly recommend this experience for everyone!

When you leave the InnChanter you have to go back to reality. We were shown the most amazing hospitality and the food was delicious. It was a 10th anniversary that we will never forget. Bravo-Zulu, Mark!! P.S. I hope the Eagles are keeping a good eye on you!! Cheers

We had such a fabulous time on the InnChanter. Amazing host, Mark, and his onboard cooking & stories were entertaining and memorable. Kayaking + hiking at high tide to the Hot Springs is a must do! The most unique b&b we've come across, and we'll never forget the adventure!

If you are looking for Cable TV, beer and wings and a convenience store in the lobby, the Innchanter isn't for you!!! But if you are looking for relaxation, a stress free environment and the most fantastic gourmet food, then book a flight or boat trip and get to the Innchanter. I was a BC Park Ranger for several years and the Innchanter was a popular stop for me during my trips to Hotsprings Cove. Shaun is the epitome of a gracious host, and his hot chocolate on a cold wet day is to die for! I miss being on the West Coast and am vowing to return for a visit!
